HALAL Industry
A halal industry must adhere to the strictures of Islamic law. The halal industry includes companies that are certified halal, meaning that there products and methods meet the appropriate criteria, as well as those that offer halal service and lifestyle choices. This industry is not restricted to Muslim countries, but has a presence in many nations around the world.
There is also a portion of the population that is not Muslim but favors halal products because of the product origin and good manufacturing practices. Halal regulations affect a number of different products, including ingredients, additives, personal care, pharmaceutical goods, and food products. These products are certified, recognizable by the halal symbol.
